This guy stole crops and cooked snakes to stay alive when he was a boy. Ward of the state at age 9. Bounced through foster houses. Kicked out of school after 8th grade. He could have blamed his upbringing as an excuse to be an asshole, an absentee father or any other social ill. BUT HE DIDN’T. He is a loving father. He worked hard and at 80 he’s still going. He never made excuses or blamed someone else for how hard life is.
